A Fond du lac woman who was seriously injured when she was
struck by a car while walking along Winnebago Drive is
improving. Forty six year old Traci Luther received life-threatening injuries and was
in critical condition when she was flown by helicopter to Theda Clark
Regional Medical Center earlier this month.
Hospital officials say Luther’s
condition has been upgraded from critical to serious condition. Sheriff’s captain Rick Olig says the latest information he has received is that Luther is now conscious
and continuing to improve. A Fond du Lac man, 47 year old Aarron Schmitz is charged
with reckless injury. Investigators say Schmitz apparently fell asleep at the
wheel and veered off the road striking Luther.
