MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin drivers and passengers should buckle up or they will have a better chance to get a ticket under a new statewide crackdown.  Starting Monday through June 2, more Wisconsin law enforcement officers will be on patrol for longer hours to enforce safety belt use. State Patrol Maj. Sandra Huxtable says more than 100,000 safety belt convictions occurred last year, second most among all Wisconsin traffic violations.  Huxtable says using safety belt is the most effective way to prevent traffic deaths. About one out of five drivers in Wisconsin is unbuckled behind the wheels. The state is also falling behind neighboring states and the national average in safety belt use rate.
