An 11 year old Fond du lac girl fortunately escaped serious
injuries when she was struck by a car while riding her bicycle. The accident happened near Sabish Middle School shortly after 3pm Friday. Fire
Chief Peter O’Leary says the girl was transported by ambulance to the
hospital with abdominal injuries. O’Leary says the accident is a reminder that with only a
couple days left in the school year motorists have to be on the lookout for kids who may
have their minds on other things.
O’Leary says that's why you have to make sure to be driving defensively…especially
around schools. O’Leary adds its also important for kids to follow the rules of the
road.
