On Monday, August 19, golf
enthusiasts will be enjoying a day of fun at the South Hills Golf &
Country Club in Fond du Lac. However, there is a deeper meaning to
their golf game, and other festivities,
as they gather to support Agnesian HealthCare’s hospice and cancer care
services.
Thanks to the Hospice Hope Cancer Care Charity Open, now in its 25th year, patients and families in need of these vital services can count on the quality providers that offer these programs
at a local level. This year,
the Hospice Hope Cancer Care Charity Open is being led by Terry “Davis”
and Jennifer Holzmann as senior chairpersons, with Joan and Dan Buechel
as junior chairpersons.
“The Hospice
Hope Cancer Care Charity Open has raised more than $3.1 million in the
past 24 years, and we are looking forward to another successful event
this year,” says Terry “Davis” Holzmann. Continued financial support is essential to help patients and families that are facing end-of-life illnesses.
The mission of hospice is to affirm life and view death
as a natural process. Hospice is designed to help patients live the
remainder of their lives as fully as possible. An interdisciplinary team
of trained professionals work together to deliver
hospice services that can make that dream a reality. People
throughout the Fond du Lac area can trust Agnesian HealthCare Cancer
Care professionals to detect and treat cancer with skill and heart.
Physicians and
staff, through their interdisciplinary activities and cancer programs,
provide high quality services for sophisticated detection, diagnosis and
treatment of cancer. Services are offered in Fond du Lac, Ripon and
Waupun.
"This
event truly benefits those in need of cancer care services as well as
focuses on the mission of Hospice Hope,” says Joan Buechel. “We are
extremely grateful to those who help
support the patients and families who ultimately benefit from the
Charity Open.”
Currently,
the Charity Open committee is making plans for another great day of
golf, elegant dining and an exciting auction. This year’s raffle gives
people the opportunity to win
the first-place prize of a 2013 Chevy Cruze or a $15,000 cash prize.
The second prize is $5,000 cash, and the third prize is $2,500 cash. A
limited number of tickets (2,000) will be sold at four for $150 or $50
each. Tickets will be available June 7. For more information on this year’s Charity Open, call the Agnesian HealthCare Foundation at (920) 926-4959.
