5-18-13 fdl council vacancy

The Fond du lac city council is expected to officially appoint Karen Merkel to fill a vacancy on the council at their meeting next week.    The council discussed the matter at a special meeting Friday…and took another preliminary vote with Merkel receiving five votes.  Councilmember Rob VandeZande voted for Lynn Farr.    The council will take an official vote to elect Merkel at their meeting on Wednesday.  The vacancy was created by the resignation of Jim Sabel due to health reasons.
