The Fond du Lac School District and Fond du Lac Area Retired
Educators are hosting a community forum this week on the governor’s
controversial proposal to expand the private school voucher program. Retired teacher, Earl Jewett, says the forum will focus on
the local impact of the proposed expansion. Jewett says majority of studies have shown the voucher
program has had shown no noticeable improvement in student achievement
in Milwaukee. Jewett says the statewide report card criteria used by the
governor to expand the program to Fond du lac and eight other
communities isn’t an accurate barometer. The forum will be held at 7pm Wednesday in the Goodrich
Little Theatre. Panelists will include Fond du lac superintendent, Dr. Jim
Sebert, school board President Elizabeth Hayes,
North Fond du lac superintendent Aaron Sadoff, and former Racine superintendent and UW professor Jim Shaw.
