The Fond du lac school board is on record in opposition to
the governor’s proposed expansion of the private school voucher
program. After postponing a vote two weeks ago until all board members could be
present…the school board voted unanimously in favor of the resolution at
their meeting Tuesday night.
Superintendent Dr. Jim Sebert says the resolution was drafted based on language from the state school board association. Last week Republican representative Jeremy Thiesfeldt made
an open records request, questioning why the district placed an anti-voucher
ad in the Action Advertiser prior to the vote on the resolution. Sebert says the district did nothing wrong and says he has compiled the information
representative Thiesfeldt is requesting. "We have it put together. I emailed him on Friday and asked if he had some time to come in this week," Sebert said. "I'd like to sit down with him and go through it with him. I told him that we'll always produce anything he'd like to see and work with him and we can do that so that we all are on the same page."
