5-17-13 fdl county sheriff's department says slinger man set himself on fire

Fond du lac County Sheriff’s investigators say it appears a man who died in a car fire in the town of Lamartine took his own life.  The badly burned body was found in a vehicle at the Outdoor Education Center on Highway 23 in the town of Lamartine Tuesday.  Sheriff’s Lieutenant of Detectives Cameron McGee says the victim has been identified as a 46 year old Slinger man.

McGee says it appears the victim set himself on fire.  "Pretty confident it was a sel-initiated, pre-planned event.  Exactly what occurred inside that vehicle we'll never know,"  McGee said.  "There's certainly a lot of questions that go through your mind as to what was going on out there.  We had several sets of experienced eyes to take a look at this because we didn't want to miss anything, but it kind of leaves you just shaking your head."
