5-16-13 budget committee scales back dnr ability to buy land
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Republicans on the Legislature's budget committee have proposed dramatically scaling back the Department of Natural Resources' ability to borrow money to buy land. All in all, the revisions would reduce the DNR's bonding authority over the next seven years by $63.5 million. The Legislative Fiscal Bureau estimates that could save the state $98 million in debt.
