5-16-13 wildfire danger high in wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Dry, warm and windy conditions are causing the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to warn residents not to start fires of any kind.  The DNR says the conditions are pushing wildfire danger into the "very high" range in most of the state.  Fire officials are currently dealing with a wildfire in northwestern Wisconsin that has destroyed dozens of buildings and forced at least 60 people from their homes.  The DNR said Wednesday it is suspending all burning permits statewide.  The DNR and National Weather Service also issued a Red Flag Warning for Florence and Marinette counties. The alert means that large forest fires are possible due to the predicted weather conditions. It's issued when wind, temperature and humidity produce conditions that could fuel a fire.
