5-17-13 theft from church

An Ixonia man accused of stealing thousands of dollars from an Ashippun church has pleaded not guilty to charges against him.  62 year old James Schlieve entered the plea Wednesday in Dodge County Circuit Court.  He’s charged with 10 counts of theft of a business setting and four counts of misappropriating identifying information to obtain money.  Schlieve is accused of taking 162 thousand dollars from an endowment fund he helped manage for Zion Lutheran Church in Ashippun.  Schlieve allegedly used the money for daily expenses.  A plea and sentencing hearing has been scheduled for June 7^th.
