8-6-13 parents reach deferred prosecution agreement in dodge county child neglect case

The parents of a three year old and four year old were placed on a deferred prosecution agreement this week after entering pleas to charges resulting from police finding neglected and unsafe living conditions within their Mayville home.  Twenty four year old Christopher Wenzel and 24 year old Michelle Giese both pleaded no contest to two counts of party to the crime of neglecting a  child.   Mayville Police Chief Chris MacNeill says officers responded to their apartment in March, and the parents told authorities that they were both too tired after working different shifts, and the unsanitary conditions accumulated over time.  Dodge County Circuit Court Judge John Storck accepted a 12 month deferred prosecution agreement in which the case will be dismissed if the couple successfully completes the terms of the agreement.
