Bids are scheduled to be opened soon on a major dredging
project at Lakeside Park. Public
Works Director Jordan Skiff says potential bidders attended a mandatory pre-bid meeting last week. Skiff says the Lakeside Park channel will be deepened from
just a few feet to closer to eight feet. Bids are scheduled to be opened September 12th and actual work will take place in late October and November. Skiff says the city learned last week that it will receive at
least some financial assistance from the state. "We were approved for a $60,000 grant from the recreational boating facilities through the state waterways commission," Skiff said. Skiff updated the advisory park board at their meeting Tuesday
night.
