8-22-13 dodge county fair fight-citations issued

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office has issued 18 disorderly conduct citations in connection with a fight last week at the Dodge County Fair.  Dodge County Sheriff Pat Ninmann says an investigation determined that 11 females, ages 13-17 and seven males ages 14-17 from Beaver Dam, Horicon,
Mayville, Burnett and Juneau were involved in the incident.  Ninmann says the fight started due to name calling and initially involved five girls.  The fight escalated when a lemonade cup was smashed over the head of one of the girls which led to another girl thrown to the ground and being kicked and punched.   Ninmann says one of the boys admitted to yelling “fight” hoping one of the girls would get assaulted because he did not like her.  The fight was videotaped by one of the boys and played on Youtube.  Ninmann says this type of behavior is unacceptable.  She says if 911 had been called instead of videotaping, the incident would have ended quickly and may not have resulted in any citations being issued.
