8-22-13 unemployment rates down
Unemployment rates decreased in most Wisconsin counties and
cities in July. The city of Fond du Lac’s unemployment rate fell from 8.2 to
7.9 percent. The Fond du lac County jobless rate stands at 6.6 percent in
July down Two tenths of a percent from June. In Dodge County the unemployment rate fell from 7.6 to 7.2 percent. Racine has the highest unemployment rate at 12.3 percent.
Beloit is second at 11.2 percent followed by Milwaukee at 10.6 percent. Unemployment went down or remained unchanged in 68 of 72
counties between June and July. Menominee County had the highest at 16.7 percent followed by
Iron County at 11.2 percent. The statewide unemployment rate was 6.8 percent in July,
less than the national rate of 7.4 percent.
