8-22-13 suder leaving assembly
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Majority Leader Scott Suder is leaving the state Assembly. The Abbotsford Republican has represented the 69th Assembly District for 14 years. Suder said Wednesday he'll step down Sept. 3. Gov. Scott Walker says Suder will become the Public Service Commission's division administrator for Water Compliance and Consumer Affairs. Suder says some of his legislative victories include Jessica's Law, which provided mandatory minimum sentences for first-degree child sexual offenders and the Rural Jobs Act that provided millions in tax credits to help locate and grow rural businesses.
