8-23-13 juneau man who rammed into squad car placed on probation
A Juneau man convicted of
driving his vehicle into the back of a Juneau Police Department squad car while
intoxicated was sentenced Wednesday in Dodge County Circuit Court. 43 year old Chad Buelter received a withheld sentence
and 18 months probation with 60 days of conditional jail time. In June, Buelter pleaded guilty to a charge
of OWI causing injury. The Dodge County
Sheriff’s Department says in April 2012, Juneau Police Officer Brittany
Borchardt was parked on the side of the roadway and in her squad car on West Oak Grove Street ,
when an SUV struck the rear of the squad.
Officer Borchardt suffered non-life threatening injuries. The Sheriff’s
Department says Buelter got out of his vehicle and fled from the scene. He was later found in an area near Lake Sinissippi .
