8-31-13 merc and u.s. army to partner in recruiting efforts

FOND DU LAC, Wis.Representatives of Mercury Marine and the U.S. Army recruiting command are scheduled to sign an agreement Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 3 p.m. aimed at providing priority hiring status to qualified soldiers participating in the Army’s Partnership for Youth success (PaYS) program. The signing ceremony will take place at Mercury Marine’s headquarters at W6250 Pioneer Road in Fond du Lac.  The PaYS Program is a strategic partnership between the U.S. Army and a cross section of corporations, companies, and public sector agencies. The program provides America's youth an opportunity to serve their country while they prepare for their future careers. Under the partnership agreement, Mercury Marine, the PaYS partner company, agrees to reserve future interview opportunities in exchange for trained U.S. Army veterans. The Army agrees to pre-qualify, train, and provide honorably discharged veterans. The Army benefits by gaining a valuable industry partner who acknowledges the Army as a quality producer of skilled employees. The PaYS Soldier agrees to fulfill his or her Army obligation and benefits with future hiring preference with the partnership company. America benefits with a well-trained workforce that understands patriotic service.
