8-28-13 wisconsin woman testifies at fort hood gunman trial

FORT HOOD, Texas (AP) — A Wisconsin woman whose daughter was killed in the Fort Hood shooting rampage says she lives with her loss "every day."  Jerri Krueger, from Kiel, Wis., testified Tuesday in the penalty phase of Maj. Nidal Hasan's trial in Texas.  Krueger's daughter, Sgt. Amy Krueger, was one of 13 people, including 12 soldiers, killed in the November 2009 rampage.  Jerri Krueger told how she and her family frantically tried to find out if she was OK after hearing about shootings at Fort Hood.  She says she had "a very bad feeling." Eventually two Army officers showed up at her home.  Hasan, an Army psychiatrist, was convicted last week. Jurors are expected to start deliberating soon on whether he should get the death penalty or life in prison without parole.
