8-29-13 governor walker to attend grand opening thursday for fdl company

Governor Scott Walker will attend a grand opening ceremony Thursday morning for a multi-million dollar expansion project at a Fond du lac manufacturer.  The ceremony is being held Thursday on the $7.1 million corporate headquarters facility for Wells Vehicle Electronics on Rolling Meadows Drive.  Wells Vice President Don Lauby says the expansion will allow the company to retain 214 current employees and add more than 70 jobs over the next three years.  Wells is a global manufacturer of new and replacement vehicle parts.  The company was founded in 1903.  The project was made possible through a half million dollar forgiveable loan through the county and Fond du lac County Economic Development Corporation, a $1 million tax increment financing district through the city, and $1.25 million in state tax credits.
