A Fond du lac state lawmaker says he is disappointed a
proposed expansion of Highway 23 between Fond du Lac and Plymouth has been delayed again.
Republican state representative Jeremy Thiesfeldt attended a public hearing on the project Wednesday night at
the UW Fond du lac. "Highway 23 east I think is one of the more dangerous roads in the state, we had evidence two weeks ago where a lady was killed on the highway by someone attempting to pass," Thiesfeldt said. "I think this is an important project for us to get done sooner rather than later." State DOT officials announced earlier this month that the
$140 million project has been pushed back to 2018.
