8-7-13 wisconsin storms

APPLETON, Wis. (AP) — Tens of thousands of people in the Fox Valley are without electricity after strong storms ripped down power lines and toppled trees.  We Energies reports more than 50,000 customers are without service Wednesday morning in the Appleton area. About 17,000 northeastern Wisconsin customers of Wisconsin Public Service don't have service, including people in De Pere, Mishicot and Denmark.
The Appleton Police Department is among customers who lost power. The police station is using an emergency generator to operate.  The storms caused heavy damage at Apple Creek Campground in the Wrightstown area. Several campers are damaged and downed trees blocked the entrance to the campground. There are no reports of serious injuries.
