8-14 Waupun Man Sentenced For Child Pornography
A Waupun man accused of using the internet to try to have
sex with a 14 year old girl pleaded no contest to amended charges Tuesday in
Dodge County Circuit Court and was sentenced to time he already served in
jail. 25 year old Zachary Tenpas pleaded
no contest to a charge of attempted third degree sexual assault. Tenpas was charged with using a computer to
facilitate a child sex crime. Three
counts of bail jumping were dismissed and read into the record. Dodge County Circuit Court Judge Steven Bauer
handed down a withheld sentence of 5 years probation. A condition of that sentence was 270 days in
jail, which Tenpas has already served.
He must also undergo sex offender counseling, and he cannot use any
device that can access the internet or social media websites without the
permission of his agent. According to a
criminal complaint, Tenpas tried to become friends with a 14 year old girl over
a social media website and sent her a message.
The girl told her father. Later,
the father logged onto the site posing as his daughter, where Tenpas allegedly set
up a meeting to have sex with her.
Tenpas was arrested by authorities when he arrived at the agreed-upon
meeting location.
