8-9-13 wisconsin storm-church

NEW LONDON, Wis. (AP) — Not much is left of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in New London after a tornado tore through — but three crosses are unharmed.  The congregation's pastor, Rev. Bil Sutlief, says it's a powerful sign and it's encouraging to the congregation.  The storm tore the roof off the sanctuary and demolished the church's fellowship hall.  The church community gathered Thursday evening for a prayer service outside the ruined building, setting up lawn chairs and blankets as they prayed and consoled one another.  The church will host an outdoor worship service Sunday morning.  Sutlief says the church is in the process of setting up a fund for repairs. He says he may have more information on the church's fate at the Sunday service.
