8-16 Standoff in Wautoma

WAUTOMA, Wis. (AP) — Authorities say a Wisconsin man who exchanged gunfire with authorities after robbing a pharmacy apparently shot himself to death. Thirty-three-year-old Timothy Pawlacyk of rural Redgranite was found dead in the basement of a home he had broken into in Wautoma. Waushara County Sheriff David Peterson says authorities believe Pawlacyk died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities say Pawlacyk walked into the CHN Pharmacy in Wautoma Wednesday and demanded Oxycontin, a prescription painkiller. He was given the drug and fled in a vehicle.
