The Fond du Lac County Board could take action at their
meeting next week to use taxpayer money to help two local industries
expand. The county finance committee will take up the matter at a
closed meeting Tuesday afternoon and the county board is expected to
consider an incentive package at their meeting later that evening. County executive Al Buechel says he can’t identify the
industries at this time or the amount of county money involved…but says it is a
worthwhile
investment. "The businesses are seeking loans to expand their business and right now the Fond du Lac County Economic Development Corporation does not have enough funds in the revolving loan fund," Buechel told WFDL news. "...so the county board has to approve some additional funding for a loan." Buechel says both expansion projects would result in
increased jobs, which In turn will help the local economy.
