The Fond du lac County Executive has unveiled a proposed
2014 Fond du lac County budget.
County executive Al Buechel rolled out the budget at Tuesday night’s meeting. We are not able to fund a cost of living increase for employees but we are able to continue all of the services, no layoffs, no cutbacks,' Buechel told WFDL news. Buechel says the budget includes a slight increase in the
tax rate. "The levy impact is an increase of $850,000 which should have a result of 1.23 percent on the average tax bill." The budget does include funding for a specialized assistant
district attorney to prosecute sexual assault and domestic violence
cases. Last year the county used unanticipated bail forfeitures to fund the position
after a federal grant for the position expired. A public hearing on the budget is scheduled for November 5th
with adoption planned for Tuesday November 12th.
