10-30-13 poll-health care law

MILWAUKEE (AP) — More Wisconsin residents say they disapprove of the new health care law than approve of it, but they strongly disagreed with shutting down the federal government in an attempt to weaken it.
A Marquette Law School poll on Tuesday said 42 percent of respondents have a favorable view of the law, while 48 percent have an unfavorable view.  Republicans failed to defund President Barack Obama's signature health care overhaul with a 16-day partial government shutdown. That tactic was wasn't popular with voters, as 19 percent supported the strategy but 76 opposed it.  Respondents gave congressional Democrats an approval rating of 33 percent, compared to 17 percent for Republicans in Congress.  The poll interviewed 800 registered voters between Oct. 21 and Thursday. The margin of error was 3.5 percentage points.
