10-28-13 emerald ash borer public information meeting

Fond du Lac area residents can learn more about the invasion of the Emerald Ash Borer at a public information meeting Monday.  The meeting will be held at 4:30pm in the legislative chambers
of the city county government center.   DNR representatives will present information about EAB which was detected in Fond du Lac and  Winnebago counties this past summer.  Fond du lac Public Works Director Jordan Skiff says the city is already taking  pre-emptive steps and has placed yellow ribbons on ash trees along Merrill  and Macy Street.  Skiff  says  although the trees are not necessarily scheduled  to be removed at this time, if left  untreated  they will likely be dead within a few years.     EAB was detected this past summer at the Mauthe Lake campground in southeast

Fond du lac County and the town of Blackwolf in Winnebago County.
