10-23-13 clergy sex abuse
MILWAUKEE (AP) — An attorney for clergy sexual abuse victims suing the Archdiocese of Milwaukee says his team will re-examine its cases after a judge barred a victim who received money in mediation from seeking additional compensation or using evidence from mediation in a bankruptcy case. A federal judge ruled Tuesday that a man who received $80,000 through the archdiocese's mediation program couldn't pursue a bankruptcy court claim. The man had claimed archdiocese officials lied to him in mediation. Attorney Mike Finnegan says his team will have to look at other victims' claims to see if they're also based on mediation.
