11-1-13 governor's race

Political observers say a recent statewide poll that shows Governor Scott Walker and Democratic challenger Mary Burke in a statistical dead heat a year out from the election shows how politically divided the state is.   The Marquette Law School poll showed that in a head to head race Walker
had 47 percent to Burke’s 45 percent.  WisPolitics.com editor J.R. Ross says no matter how accurate the poll numbers are today…both sides agree the election next fall will be a close one.  "Even when I talk to Republicans who are extremely confident governor Walker will win next year, they're pretty sure its going to be a 51 or 52 percent type win, not a 56 or 57 percent one,"  Ross said.  "They're projecting a very close race even though they're very confident he is going to win."  Ross made the comments on AM 1170 WFDL's Between the Lines program.
