The Fond du Lac city council president says he anticipates
few if any significant changes to a proposed city budget. The city council held a special meeting Wednesday night to review the budget
following a public hearing last week.
City council president Sam Meyer says the $30.1 million budget is up about $200,000 from last
year and includes no cuts in programs or staff. "If there's a message to the general public it would be that there are no major changes in service levels and there's no reduction or elimination of existing services," Meyer told WFDL news. The budget includes increased expenditures for five new
police community service officers and $200,000 for general street
maintenance. The council is scheduled to adopt the budget at their
October 23rd meeting.
