Ribbon cutting ceremonies are set for next month for a new railroad underpass project in Fond du Lac. County Highway Commissioner Tom Jahnke says the ribbon cutting and monument dedication
will be held on Tuesday November 12th for the
Pioneer Road project. "Its certainly a long time coming," Jahnke told WFDL news. "Its going to be a good project to get done with as we continue our efforts in the next phases as we move north of Hickory Street." Jahnke says construction on the underpass and roundabouts
is done and crews are now working on restoration work. He says the underpass will enable traffic to flow more
smoothly and safely. "I think you're going to see a more efficient movement of traffic through that corridor. No longer are you going to be waiting at that at-grade crossing since its been removed," Jahnke said. "Businesses will be able to get products delivered faster and more efficiently, the roundabouts will make for safer intersections, more efficient than what was out there." The ceremony will be held at 1:30 pm Tuesday November 12th
at the Hickory Street and Pioneer Road roundabout.
