Bail has been increased for a Fond du lac man involved in
two separate shooting incidents last week in the city of Fond du lac and
village of North Fond du lac.
Nineteen year old Mason Paasch made his initial Fond du lac court appearance Wednesday afternoon
on one felony count of discharging a firearm from a vehicle and
nine misdemeanor counts including discharging a firearm within
100 yards of a building and carrying a concealed weapon. Fond du Lac Judge Peter Grimm increased bond to $15,000 cash
and Paasch was taken into custody and returned to the Fond du
lac County Jail. Paasch had earlier posted $5000 cash bail following a bail
bond hearing last week. North Fond du Lac police chief, Darren Pautsch, says he's pleased with the charging decision. 'I think given the severity of the situation, given the potential for what it could have become I think that its appropriate that such a hard stance is being taken," Pautsch told WFDL news. Paasch is accused of firing a handgun into the air following
a fight outside a southeast Fond du Lac residence last week and later firing
an assault rifle into the air after being confronted by a neighbor in North
Fond du lac.
