10-1-13 eab awareness-fdl
In an effort to raise awareness about the number of ash trees in our
community that may become infested with the Emerald Ash Borer, city staff has
placed yellow ribbons on trees along Merrill Avenue and Macy Street.
Although the identified trees are not necessarily scheduled to be removed at
this time, if left untreated they will likely be dead within a few years.
The EAB has been found only 15 miles from Fond
du Lac , and could already be here without being
detected. Concerned citizens are encouraged to attend an informational
meeting with the DNR at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, October 28 in the legislative
chambers of the City/County Government Center (160 S. Macy St.). For more
information about the EAB, please visit the City’s web site at www.fdl.wi.gov.
For more information about terrace trees and treatment options in your
neighborhood, please contact the Public Works office at 920-322-3472.
