10-5-13 powerball winner claims prize

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A Wisconsin woman has brought in her ticket and claimed her prize a month after winning $1 million in the Powerball drawing.  Paula Steffes of Kaukauna traveled to Wisconsin Lottery headquarters on Friday and produced a valid $1 million winning ticket from the Sept. 4 Powerball drawing.
Steffes received $672,500 in a single lump sum after taxes. She declined to hold a news conference.
Steffes used her own numbers to match all five regular winning numbers, but not the Powerball, to win the $1 million prize. The winning numbers drawn Sept. 4 were 2, 9, 26, 45 and 47, with a Powerball of 11.
Steffes bought her winning ticket at Crooks Express in Kaukauna. For selling that ticket, Crooks Express earns a $20,000 commission from the lottery.
