5-3-13 dad's prom dress

MARSHFIELD, Wis. (AP) — Many girls dream about special prom dresses, but one Wisconsin teen has a dress no one can match.  Her father made it for her.  Seventeen-year-old Mariah Herron, of Marshfield, says she wanted a prom dress made out of camouflage fabric because it would fit her personality. She hunts and works on construction projects.  But she had trouble finding a camouflage dress that was affordable.  That's when her father, David Herron, stepped in. He learned to sew in the military.  He says that he made some pillows and quilts after his wife gave him a sewing machine, but a dress was a whole new challenge.  The winter white camo-colored dress he made was a success, though. Herron says his daughter now wants him to make her wedding dress.
