6-6-13 waupun kitchen fire

Nobody was injured in a kitchen fire in Waupun.  Firefighters were called to a South Madison Street residence this week to a report of a fire on the stove.  The owner said he was seasoning some cast iron pans on the stove for a weekend camping trip and suddenly noticed the pots were on fire.   He tried to smother the fire using a blanket but said the smoke was so bad he had to get out of the house.   The fire was contained to the stove area.
