A Republican state senator from Fond du Lac says the state
budget signed into law by the governor will help the state to continue to
move in the right direction. Senator
Rick Gudex says the tax cuts in the budget will help spur the economy. "Certainly having close to a billion dollars in tax cuts is a very good positive thing, $650 million of which would go into the pockets of the hard working people," Gudex told AM 1170 WFDL's Between the Lines program. Gudex says he also supports the educational reforms included
in the budget including the expansion of the private school voucher
program statewide. Gudex says he also supports the governor’s decision not to
accept federal dollars for Medicaid expansion. Gudex says he disagrees with Democrats who argue the budget
benefits the wealthy at the expense of the middle class.
