AAA predicts more than 40 million Americans will travel this
Independence Day holiday. State
Triple A spokesperson Pam Moen says that’s a point eight percent decrease from a year ago. In Wisconsin, nearly 867,000 people are expected to travel, a 1.3 percent decrease compared to a
year ago. Moen says the anticipated decline in travel is predominantly due to a
shorter holiday period.
Moen says the good news is gas prices are coming down significantly. Eighty four percent of travelers will travel by
automobile. Holiday air travel is expected to increase slightly.
