The Dodge County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy says a teenage pilot
did a "commendable job" of landing a plane in a cornfield when the
aircraft ran out of fuel over the weekend. Chief Deputy Scott Smith says the pilot, 19 year old Remington Viney of Madison, was on the return flight home from Manitowac when a switch malfunction
prevented her from switching to the other fuel tank on board. Viney and three passengers in the plane were able to walk
away uninjured. The plane was not damaged.
