Local law enforcement is reminding residents that many
fireworks for sale at the local fireworks stand are illegal to discharge. Waupun police chief Dale Heeringa says the bottom line is anything that explodes
or leaves the ground is illegal to discharge. Heeringa says the Waupun PD fields several complaints every
year related to illegal fireworks. Heeringa says even legal fireworks can be dangerous,
especially for young children.
