6-12-13 wisconsin budget

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker says he hopes to sign the state budget into law before July 1.
The state Assembly plans to begin debate on June 18. Assembly Speaker Robin Vos said Tuesday he hopes to vote on passing it the following day.  If the Assembly passes the budget as Vos hopes on Wednesday next week, the Senate is expected to take it up the following day.  Walker said Tuesday he wants to take between a week and 10 days to review it for possible line-item vetoes, but he expects to sign it before July 1.  Walker predicts the Legislature will make a few modifications "but there shouldn't be a ton of changes."
Republican legislative leaders have said they don't want to make any substantive changes.
