MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker refuses to say why he withdrew the nomination of a University of Wisconsin-Platteville student to the Board of Regents. The student, Joshua Inglett, said Thursday the governor's office withdrew the nomination on Wednesday after Inglett said he signed a petition to recall Walker. Walker refused to give a reason why he was withdrawing Inglett's nomination. Walker says, "We've got plenty of other good candidates and we're not going to get into specifics about it."
Walker says he doesn't want to "pull him through the details on this." Inglett says in an email there are more important issues for the regents to focus on than his nomination status. Walker announced the appointment on Monday and says he will announce a replacement soon.
