Today, Sen. Gudex
(R-Fond du Lac) presented Jet Stream Car Wash with a legislative
citation for their 50 years of service in the Oshkosh, Stevens Point,
and Fond du Lac communities. Jet Stream was
started in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin in 1963 with a partnership that
included David Tack, father of present owner Walt Tack. The Tack family
assumed complete ownership of Jet Stream in 1976. A
second location was built in Stevens Point, Wisconsin in 1985 and a
third in Oshkosh, Wisconsin in 1986. The fourth location (the second in
Fond du Lac) was built in 1990. An Oil & Lube Center was added to
the second Fond du Lac location in the mid 1990’s.
In the midst of the expansion, Walt Tack became the sole owner of the
Jet Stream Car Wash group. In 1996 the Stevens Point location was sold
and in 2001 the original Fond du Lac location was closed leaving the
Oshkosh car wash, the second Fond du Lac location
and the Oil & Lube Center as the remaining businesses. The two car
washes and the Oil & Lube Center makeup the Jet Stream Car Wash
family as it exists today. Sen. Gudex made the
following comments, “I was happy to present this citation with Rep.
Thiesfeldt to Jet Stream Car Wash today because they are a great local
success story. Their focus on service, staff training,
and using a collaborative team approach in the workplace are the
reasons why they have been in business for 50 years. I personally
commend Jet Stream, and I wish them the best on their future endeavors.”
