MILWAUKEE (AP) — The federal government says 5,300 Wisconsin residents have signed up for health insurance through the federal website as of Nov. 30.  The government released data Wednesday showing that more than 47,000 residents completed insurance applications through HealthCare.gov, and 5,300 completed the process.  However, the government's numbers are more than a week old. The state released more recent figures Tuesday that are more telling.  According to the state insurance commissioner's office, about 7,200 Wisconsin residents purchased health insurance as of Monday. That's up sharply from the approximately 900 people who signed up in October.  The HealthCare.gov website has been plagued with technical problems since it went live Oct. 1. Users complained the system was unresponsive and wouldn't keep them logged on.  The federal government says many glitches have been eliminated.
