12-18-13 four fdl county board supervisors will not seek re-election

Papers are being circulated for Fond du Lac County Board seats.  Sherry Behnke, who represents Supervisory District 4, John Muentner, Sr., who represents Supervisory District 8, Herb Ottery, who represents Supervisory District 10, and Jim Kiser, who represents Supervisory District 23 have filed non-candidacy papers.  District 4 is comprised of town of Eldorado, Ward 3; town of Friendship; and Village of North Fond du Lac, Ward 1.  District 8 is comprised of the town of Byron; town of Eden, Ward 1; town of Oakfield, Ward 2; village of Eden; and village of Oakfield, Ward 2. District 10 is comprised of the town of Auburn and the town of Osceola.  District 23 is comprised of Town of Fond du Lac, Ward 7; and Wards 23 & 24 in the city of Fond du Lac.   Supervisory district maps are available on the Fond du Lac County website, www.fdlco.wi.gov.   To serve on the County Board, you must be at least 18 years of age and reside in the district you represent. The election will be April 1, 2014. If a primary election is necessary, it will be held on Feb. 18, 2014.   If you are interested in running for county board supervisor, please contact the Office of the Fond du Lac County Clerk, 160 S. Macy St., Fond du Lac, or phone (920) 929-3000.  A Declaration of Candidacy and Campaign Finance Statement will need to be completed and filed by the candidate. Nominations papers need to be circulated and returned with 50 signatures by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7.  The Fond du Lac County Board of Supervisors meets approximately once a month on the third Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Legislative Chambers of the City-County Government Center. In addition to the County Board meetings, each supervisor is also appointed to at least one standing committee of the board. The committees typically meet once or twice a month and are scheduled at a time that is convenient for the membership of the committee.
