12-17-13 democratic candidate announces bid for state senate seat
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Democratic state Rep. Janet Bewley, of Ashland, wants to replace retiring Sen. Bob Jauch, also a Democrat. Bewley became the first candidate for the district when she announced Monday. Jauch is a 31-year veteran of the Legislature but is not seeking another term next year. The 67-year-old was first elected to the Senate in 1986 after serving four years in the Assembly. Bewley was first elected to the Assembly in 2010.
