12-13-13 former dodge county sheriff's son thwarts burglar at father's house

The former Dodge County Sheriff says his son, a sheriff's deputy,  helped thwart a burglar at his home this week in Fox Lake.  Former sheriff Todd Nehls was at a sheriff’s meeting in Lake Geneva when he received a phone call that his home had been burglarized.   Nehls says a Beaver Dam man rang the doorbell at his home around noon and when no one answered the man entered the home through an unlocked garage door.  Nehls' son Taylor had stopped by the house to pick up some equipment to go ice fishing and caught the burglar in the act.  He held the man at gunpoint until police arrived.
