12-11-13 suspicious fire update

Fire investigators, police detectives and the state Department of Criminal Investigation were back on the scene Tuesday of a fire believed to be started by a man who later was involved in an armed standoff with Fond du Lac police.  The fire destroyed the vacant house on North Hickory Street near Thomas Street.  Fond du Lac Fire chief Pete O’Leary says a dog trained to sniff out accelerants is on the scene.  O’Leary says he believes the fire had been set only minutes before neighbors called 911.  Records show the suspect, Shannon Rogler,  had lived at the house as late as 2010.
